What is an XML Sitemap and Why Do You Need One?

How to Submit Your XML Sitemap to Google
- Download your generated
sitemap.xmlfile using the tool above. - Upload the
sitemap.xmlfile to your website's root directory (e.g.,https://yourdomain.com/sitemap.xml). - Log into Google Search Console.
- Navigate to the Sitemaps menu under the Index section.
- Enter
sitemap.xmlinto the "Add a new sitemap" input and click Submit.
What does Change Frequency mean?
It acts as a hint to search engines indicating how often content on a given page changes (e.g., daily for blogs, monthly for static pages).
How does Priority work?
Priority specifies the importance of a specific URL relative to other pages on your site, on a scale from 0.0 to 1.0 (1.0 being the highest).
